Hello,
Could anyone tell me where is the best place and price to buy 7.62 recievers. Any will do, Vulcan, OOW,Global, etc. Places other than Joeken!!!!! I'm looking to buy more than 4 at a time. Or even prebent 80% ones would be ok. I would like to bend my own out of flats, but I am not a machnist, to make a jig. Any one who builds the jigs that will bend the already made flats like tapco's got????? I would buy one if anyone is selling in a reasonable price?

first, welcome to gunco. Now to try to answer your questions:

OOW - best place to get them is through OOW at http://www.ohioordnanceworks.com/parts/akm/akm.htm Global receivers through http://www.globaltrades.com/ and click on the receiver link on the left. For vulcan receivers I'm not sure if the ones FAC sells are vulcan or not. Dsspro (Aren) sells vulcan receivers (I bought mine through him and they were about a week from when I sent payment to when they arrived at the local ffl). As for jigs to bend the tapco flats, 555th is making a run of 50 jigs and already has 50 people on his list. There has been discussion of a jig being available for "rent" from another member but am not sure of all the details. 555th freely gives out the info and diagrams on how to make the jig. Thank you for the information, I have been leaning towards the OOW reciever than the others. I have built on the Vulcan reciever (4 of them) and they were ok, and mean just ok!!!!! The bad thing I ran into was holes being mis aligned for the front trunion. Other than that it went good. I think the rails are misplaced alittle, and the trigger guard holes are alittle off as well. The price is good for them though. Well thank you and enough of my rambling.

I just ordered 3 receivers from GlobalTrades, the 1.6mm type. A little spendy at 70 clams, (about 150 greenbacks for a front trunion installed and parked) but I think they will be good ones. If you're scared about machining your trunnions down to fit into the thicker receiver, they can do it for you for short money. Lots of services offered here, and a great reputation (which counts for alot in my book). It all depends on your needs, and your wallet. For minimal fuss, you can get a receiver with both trunnions installed, parked, trigger guard, mag catch, and rails hardened and welded, ready to roll for about 175 smackers. A basic receiver goes about 49.00, but you have to drill it yourself. I'll re-post as soon as they arrive to my FFL!!!
