I though that I would post this for those who would like to add an AR15 buttstock to their AK-47 style rifle. As stated in the tutorial, the adapter was not a slip fit. Hope this helps those who are interested.

Alot of work it seems

wow! i didnt realize that it would take so much work to make the adaptor fit. i may re-think my purchase of one until after i complete my kit and get some experience to better know if its worth all of the fuss. btw, cheapest i have found for the sliding stock and the adapter is around $50 for both from AKparts.com. is this about the cheapest to be had? anyone know what a made in USA collapsible stock goes for? id guess 50+ for just that piece.

Where does one get one of these adapters?

By the way, the Tapco M4 style collapsable stock is better than one would expect. I have a RRA variety, and the Tapco is as good, beefier in some areas.

copes (a sponsor here) has them for $19.99. Located on the ak page http://www.copesdist.com/ak47.htm about 3/4 of the way down on the left side.

Would there be any interest for a milled rear trunion replacement that would accept the original CAR and M-4 style stocks? This would rivet in place just like the original AK rear trunion.

build it and they will come

id possibly be interested. if the price was right of course. the adapters are only around $10 so it would have to be a pretty good bargain for sales to be effective. would really be a good invention though. of course id rather have your milled one if possible. i am sure others would be interested too. if the adapters sell, there is definitely a market for them. good idea, hope to see one soon.:thumbup1:

Can't run CNC machines for $10. The cost would be around $50.

Toten Kopf, Thanks for the initial post. I too thought it was a simple slip on fit.
rbthntr64, I for one would be interested in that milled trunion at the $50 price. It's a great idea and would make the install so much easier.
