AK YUGO Barrel

it won't work without being reprofiled, that is something i am going to do though with mine.

also might need an oversized barrel pin

You need to : drill, pin , drill the gas port hole , and cut the handguard retainer slot with a file. the extractor cut is already done. With all that said , it would be much easier than rewelding the yugo gas hole and turning the rest of it on a lathe. If you want to know how to install a virgin barrel this tutorial on a yugo m70ab2 will work almost the same way with all AKs Virgin Build Yugoslavian M70AB2 Stamped Receiver Yugo M70 AB2 - Calguns.net . The part about the barrel starts about one third of the way down.

The Yugo barrel will fit into the Romy trunnion, but you'll need Yugo parts to go on the barrel and a Yugo gas piston. Unless you got a lathe or use of one, it would be easier to get a Romy barrel.

dont really know the specs of a romy barrel,but akparts says it has a romy 23 mm front trunnion so you can mount a RPK barrel.Without knowing the different specs I wondered if that would allow the use of any yugo barrel.Can anybody shed some light?

As far as I know the Yugo barrels used on stamped receivers are the same size at the chamber end as other com-block stamped AKs, 23mm, the barrel itself (Yugo) is a heavier wall so the standard AKM stuff won't fit.

Sorry not sure if I read your question right, Yes a Yugo RPK barrel will fit in a Romy trunnion.
