Started and finished my third AMD-63 today. It took about 4 hours. It is a hybrid of Ebay Polish front handguard (to replace the front pistol grip), Hungarian gas tube with Polish top guard and an AK74 style muzzle brake. I wanted something different this time. I was away for a month and I was anxious to build something. Thanks to Xebec press kit, It went together smoothly and the headspace is right on the money.

Have to agree that is a nice looking build. One question though, how much if any did you have to modify the lower handguard to make it work with the AMD63 handguard retainer?

You have to trim the wood portion that fits into the front retainer. It is real critical that the front of the receiver is squared up. I also had to use a small round file to get the lever to close smoothly. I just opened up the barrel groove slightly. This Polish handguard has a metal piece on the receiver end. If it was all wood, I think it would have fit better.

George-- thanks for calling yesterday, it was good to talk to you. I got your e-mail but I screwed up somehow and do not have your link to the Polish furniture guy.

Would you mind posting that? I'm amazed at how well the different woods blend. It's a beautiful build and good luck on your tile.

Winn,
Here is the Ebay link. You will have to email the seller or check and see if there are more up for auction. According to the bidder history, I was the only buyer and he had 13 sets of wood.

Tile is coming along fine. My back isn't holding up too good though!
George--Next time you're leaving for a month, as the door closes, tell Deb to do it. Then run.:bolt:

Josh--Should go right on.
