Hi all,

First-time builder here. I've got one of the like-new AMD-65 kits from Centerfire that I'm building on, and so far, so good - rivets removed, holes tapped, etc. No problems on that end.

I am now on to the removing the muzzle brake and installing the Tapco extension. However, I am not sure how to remove it! I see that there is a pin protruding from the FSB onto the flat of the brake, locking it in place. Apparently that pin needs to be removed, but how? Do I need to drive out the FSB pins to do so? Looking at the pin I can't figure out exactly how it's held in or what to do. Any advice would be welcome!

Thanks in advance,
TheFaz

The brake screws on with left hand threads, so make sure you turn the opposite direction to loosen it.

Press the pin into the sight and unscrew the brake. The pin is spring loaded so you'll have to hold it down while removing the brake.

Thanks for the help! It was on there pretty tight but I got it broken free. The pin was stuck, which is why I guess I didn't realize it was spring loaded.

Thanks again for the help. Hopefully I'll have this thing finished in time to test fire on Memorial Day.
