Could this be a beginning of a crackdown on Militias? Under the cover of "domestic Terrorism"?

ADRIAN, Mich. – The FBI says agents have conducted weekend raids in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, and at least three people have been arrested.

Federal warrants are sealed, but FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said Sunday there has been "law enforcement activity" in southwest Michigan. She wouldn't say whether they were tied to the raids in the other states.

FBI spokesman Scott Wilson in Cleveland says agents arrested two people Saturday in Ohio. A third arrest was made in Illinois on Sunday, a day after raids in Indiana.

Michael Lackomar, spokesman for the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia, says a member of his group was called by members of a religious militia Saturday who claimed their property was being raided. Lackomar says the SMVM member declined to help and is cooperating with the FBI.

all the militias are on high alert and awaiting further confirmation of some of the intel they have been recieving.Could be a ruse to incite some activity or more than likley those groups were into some illegal activities.One unconfirmed report was they were making and selling pipe bombs so who knows,this could be interesting.

Right now, the leftists in government and the media are looking for an excuse to further marginalize Tea Partiers and Conservatives as right-wing extremist wackos who want violent overthrow of the anointed one. If they see any violence, they will pounce on the story like a hungry tiger on a raw steak - all in an attempt to marginalize those who believe in the Constitution and not in "his exaltedness". Look at how they trumpeted the stories about violence and threats against the Dems for the health-care vote - never mind that most of the threats seemed to come from die-hard leftists who HATED Stupak and company for not funding abortions (and one could assume infanticide!). Any McVeigh type will really hurt the conservative movement.

I read the article earlier today. All I could think of was Waco and Ruby Ridge during the Clinton years. I'm expecting to see more of this type of thing in the near future under Obama. It makes me wonder what actually happened.....

Why is it that there's always some fat bull **** lesbian behind these raids? Under Clintoon it was Janet Reno going after the Weaver family and the Branch Davidians, and now it's happening again this time under Janet Nopalitano. What is the affinity Dems have for old fat ugly lesbians in government?

Welcome back to the days of Janet Reno. I guess this is Obama getting a little nervous and feeling a need to crack the whip. Can't be having the mob getting in a tizzy after he and his maggots in Congress force fed the poison pill down everyone's throat.

In case I glossed over it did they plant the drugs and kiddie porn as well? Just curious if they're following the old procedures or updated to something new.

OK so they were going to kill some cops, and then kill more at the funeral. And this killing of LOCAL law enforcement officers was supposed to be some way to invoke an "uprising against the government".

HRM. Exactly what kind of "Christian" group is this? I grew up in church but never heard stuff like that when I was in sunday school!

Ever wonder how much of this "kill the policeman, let's sell pipebombs. and let's wipe-out muslims" has been provided by the paid gov't snitch playing for the microphone ?? Many US militia groups have police officers and military as members. They don't cotton to that sort of of crap !!! So who would ??

In most civilised countries gov't participation to create a crime, collusion, is illegal as it used to be here in the USA. Such BS goes far beyond simply planting dope or kiddie porn to beef-up propaganda for the media in a weak or non-existent case. Recall the planting of grenades on the Georgia Militia by a gov't "paid informant" ie snitch. to have a case against them.

I agree!! Use a gun and then they will try to ban them. Use a baseball bat or bow and arrow, will they try to ban them? Everybody could try passive resistance like the hippies did. There arn't enough federal penitentuaries to hold everyone. But the like I said nobody will work together. Too many fat people waddling around who don't care.

First of all, Freedom of Religion means ALL religions, not just Christianity.

Secondly, the best militia will never be known by anyone other than its members until such a time as they decide to become active. No, I do not belong to a militia. Nor do I advocate the overthrow of this government by force.

A corrolary to that is simply keep your mouth shut to those not known to you, and be selective even with those known to you, when discussing any weapons, supplies, or prep you have done preparing for a societal or ecnomic break down.

Thirdly, if you persist in making violent threats, or carrying out violent acts, and stand there right in the open and say you did them, what do you expect to happen? The feds will bring you flowers?

Being a Christian militia does not excuse you from scrutiny, and even in my eyes makes you more likely to do something radical and deadly.

No offense, but EVERY week when I come on here, i always see "and so it begins!", or "here comes the disarming of America!"

It's like a broken record....constantly.....

I swear, if you only listened to everything on these forums, you would think there were Federal Agents standing outside of every home in America, waiting to break in and take their guns, with Hilary and Obama standing in the back ground laughing.
But when you step back into reality, you realize it's over drawn, and just not happening....

Now I will admit, there's always a bit of tension between gun owners and politicians in America(left AND right side), but just because their going after Militias, doesn't mean anything.
We DONT have the evidence that the police and government have....we DONT really know what's going on behind closed doors, based on a bunch of news stories put up on the Internet.
Police ARENT going to raid, just because someone has firearms.....do you realize how insane that sounds?
They only raid when there's evidence of threatening deviant behavior or plotting has taken place.(because after all, it must go to court....they don't just arrest them because their anti-government and have no evidence of something else about to take place.)

I just think you guys are drawing all this crap out to be way more than what it is.....

I mean think about........this is a country, where in the 1990's most states started to ALLOW conceal carry or open carry. This is a country where most states ALLOW PEOPLE TO CARRY FUCKING HANDGUNS IN MOST PUBLIC PLACES(as long as state laws allow, or CCW is had).

Yes, there's the argument of "well some states make it impossible to Carry or posses guns without tons of paperwork".......well my friends, that's why we have States, so they can enact their own rules and laws.......we might not like one States laws(even if we may feel it goes against the Constitution....which is fucked up), but that's why we can also MOVE....
States can be a double edged sword sometimes, but that's just how it goes.

And as I see it, 95% of states out there are very non-restrictive to a good degree........so I say we are obviously winning.

there could be some wack-jobs at work here. we won't know till the trial what kind of evidence is or lack thereof. the whole story is sounding more off center by the minute.

on the prison deal our LEO's arn't even interested in busting meth labs and pushers. UNLESS they can catch them with a big haul of cash they tend to not be very interested.

i suppose they MIGHT be interested IF there were illegal mexican aliens there with US made rifles--then maybe--if they could get a news team and a photo op.
