AR Magazine suggestions

Most find that cleaned up and decent condition GI mags work as well as any. I saw a box full for 5.00 per at the gun show last weekend. Bought two and was not disappointed..

PMags are good- CProducts are good also

I have about 10 CProducts mags in 6.8SPC and they've all worked good so far. If you're sticking with 223....then you can't beat a C-Mag 100 round drum....they perform flawlessly!!!! I have one for now and its worked everytime I've pulled the trigger with it....probly gone thru 600-ish rounds thru it....its a great investment!

I'll bet the drum is more fun than the thirty round GI's as well....:ar15:

Remember that is only 6 load/empty cycles. I know other people have tested it further, but 6 cycles on the springs isn't much of a test.

I just go with aluminum mags and tweak them to be perfect. The korean steel HK copy mags are supposed to be good, even if they aren't then just tweak them and deburr the feedlips, they're metal, not magic. That's what I don't like about plastic mags, when you drop them they crack, aluminum mags just get the feedlips bent outwards a bit, slap them on the ground to bend them back into a similar shape [I usually leave them so the rounds sit a little bit higher on the feedramps, so long as they still hold rounds reliably and clear the bottom of the BCG] and they keep working. With cracked plastic mags all you can do is jam them back into the magwell and pray that you don't get doublefeeds everywhere from the spread feedlips.

I have had good luck with PMags, HK mags, British Mags w/ mag pull followers stuffed in, C Products, Most GI mags with magpul followers stuffed in and the odd feed lip tweak. In that order with the first 2 basically tied. I don't have the HK mags anymore as I traded them for 4 new PMags /HK mag as I didn't see 30 bucks more reliablity out of the HK ones. For 20s, I have early steel waffle mags, Colt commercial with aluminum followers, GI with alumium followers, GI w/ plastic followers. 20s are great when you are trying to get closer to Mother Earth.

Mags I have had nothing but trouble from: Singapore made steel, Promag, Thermold. Occasionally you get a good one or a good batch.

I hear the Lancers are good, but never tried one.

Surplus and C Products....That is all I have current experience with...Both work fine for the amount of use that I give them....Maybe two or three reloads on a shooting day.

D&H/labell made GI mags, C=products,and the very best magpull P-mags.

there are a few other mags that will run well and some other mags that ain't worth the effort.

Can I put magpuls in the british radways I thought they had a different shape that the magpuls wont fit in?

Stamped metal mags should for the most part be the same. The cammenga "easymag" ones obviously will be different, but all GI style ones should be dimensionally similar.
