Either way. You'll be amazed at how much force it takes to get the damn pin started. Once it gets going, it's smooth sailing.

Use a press or a heavy hammer. A brass punch is nice also. Gloves should be considered a requirement. Ask me how I know [:)]

I use custom bench vise that I modified just for this task. makes pressing barrel pins a breeze. :headspin:
