Does any one remember exactly what side to press the barrel pin out of the trunion on? I forgot what side I did on my last build. I don't recall.
Thanks

How did you press your barrel?
I used the "Roll of pennys method" and hammered away with a BFH.
Do you guys have an easier method instead of using a press?

I used the BFH method on my AMD63 kit and was surprised at how easy it was. It took about 20-30 good wacks. I also polished the metal with 600 grit then 2500 grit paper followed by 000 steel wool. Then I used anti-seize paste. I did not over polish, just enough to make everything bright and shiny.

I also made sure the barrel was chamfered around the edge to make the initial insertion easier.

You need a good chamfer for decent insertion, ya' know? :naughty:

Yeah nothing like a good champher and a little wiener slider for easy insertion.

Sang,

I used the same method on pressing my barrel in, but how about pressing it OUT? The anti-sieze works great doesn't it? When I said that about the roll of pennys I was talking about getting it out. Pressing it in is the easy part.
Thanks,
