I've got the bolt broken down and I want to clean.
Is it best (NOT) to use any type of lube in the firing pin area at all?
I know on the SKS (No) lube is recomended in the bolt or the gas tube.
Is this correct?
Also when I install all of the internal parts, The charging handle feeds real good if your aggresive. Like pulling it back and letting it go real quick.
But if you're real easy with it, it seems that the bolt hangs up on the hammer or on one of the rails. Like I said if you pull the handle back and let go quick it's fine. Is this common? It feeds and extracts fine though.
Any ideas?
Thanks guys......

that is common
I can pull the handle back on ANY of my AK's and if I slowly let it slide back it will hang, sometimes it even does the BOLT HOLD OPEN trick.
But this never happens when i fire or when I pull it back and let it fly

Cephus... That's what I do for my SKS, and see very little difference in the AK . When I first got my SKS I took the Bolt and boiled the hell out of it on the stove in water for about an hour or so, to get all of the crap out of it, placed it in a hot (180 deg) oven to dry it out good, then i lightly hosed it with some silicone, and have had no trouble. I clean it this way after heavy use, and like I said... trouble free.

Thanks alot guys....I did'nt know if this was common with the bolt.
I can now breathe a sigh of relief.
Would you happen to lube the firing pin at all though?
I don't want it slapping against a floating round.
Thanks again....Shadow
