Building Without a Press

I am new to building AKs and unfortunately cannot buy and do not have access to a press right now. I have pieced together how to do every step without a press except for riveting the rear trunnion. Is there a way to do this without a press? I cannot weld so building a jig is not an option.

The open face jig I posted in this link did not need welding & could be used with a BF hammer.

Hi shotgunner, yeah I saw your jig, very nice looking setup. I guess I only took a quick look and did not realize it needed no welding. What is the steel piece that makes up the body of the jig from?
you could do a screw build, and rivet later on if you decide to buy or come across someone with riveting equipment.

I built this guy using only a hammer and a punch.

How'd you drill and tap the holes in the trunnion?

technically you are right, I used a few more tools, but it sounded better!

no special tools though. hammer, punch, allen wrench, tap, vise, and a grinder. I also bought a bolt, coupler, and then a brass bolt to knock the barrel out. lowes didnt have any brass nuts big enough to use to knock the barrel out so I had to improvise.

Looks good but I was really hoping to do my builds with rivets.
drill a round divot in a punch and use it to shepe the rivit head.
What GlenAvon said, but wanted to add, have a steel plate with a rivet head divot to rest the preformed rivet head in then use the modded punch on the other end.
