Are you talking about the ones that TAPCO sells. If so, I've got one at home I can measure for you.
Yeah, that should do. I've got a bunch of steel rod laying around and wanted to make one, but need to double check the measurements. I appreciate it!

Does anyone have a center support they can measure and provide the specs on (length, ID, OD, Wall thickness, etc).

TIA,
Co7t
I have a couple of hungarian center supports, and I'll get one out in a bit and get the measurements for you.

Here are the dismensions for a TAPCO center support bushing.

Over all length: 1.175''
Outside diameter: .200''
Inside diameter: .160''
Thickness: .040''

Originally I tried to use one of 1-PAT's group buy long rivets and it wouldn't fit through the hole. Then I tried one of the TAPCO long rivets and fit just perfect. Tapco long rivet diameter: .150'' 1-Pat's long rivet diameter: .175''.

Hope this helps!

The hungarian center support (the one global trades sells) has these measurements:

Length: 1.179"
ID: 0.158"
OD: 0.275" on the outside edge and the center OD is 0.243"
wall thickness: 0.062"

the rivet that comes with the center support is 0.156" thick and the overall length is 1.626"
Here is a picture of it from globals website.

edit: and the actual center support and rivet aren't a green color like in the picture, but a silver colored rivet and the center support looks like a blued/black color.

How can there be such a difference in OAL? Lets say you use Tapco rails with both of these center supports. One is goint to be off by .015''? Is this an acceptable tolerance?

Unless I am missing something - wouldn't the difference in OAL only be .004"? (1.179 - 1.175 = .004). I could find .004 to be a more acceptable tolerance than .015.

Speaking of center support sleeves; has anyone tapped one of these for a total screw built AK? I have one from Tapco and I plan on building my AMD 65 totally with screws.
Yes, 7.62x39 has rifle drilled some rod and tapped it for screws. I would imagine a person could use 1/4 or .25 rod from Home Depot and do the same. This is exactly what I plan on doing.
