Hey ladies and gents,
I have 2 AMd-65 kits that I am building. The thing is...I decided that I may want to build one with a plain rear trunion and wood stock instead of a folder. I looked at the various websites and found that rear trunions are a lot more than I want to spend. I was wondering if anyone has any idea where I could get a rear trunion and wood butt stock on the cheap? I have a rear folder that I could trade if anyone is interested. Otherwise is there any websites where trunion/stocks are reasonable?

$18 for a stock tang and $35 for a buttstock is too much to spend? Well, actually it may be. Or maybe I budget way more for gun parts than I should... In any case, here's a few links to get you going. Don't forget to check out the gunshows. There are deals to be had every once in awhile. There are enough members here, that someone has to have changed over from imported wood to U.S. wood or polymer. Maybe someone will have a set (or stock) to set you up with. There are butthole stocks (like on the Romak 3) around, but that may not be what you're looking for. If I can find any other links, I'll add them.

K-Var stuff

Interordnance has a complete AK stock set with gas tube for $25. Even if the handguards are cracked, the tube is worth $10.

Global Trades may have a buttstock they're willing to sell outright, but it may not be really cheap.

E-mail Tantal and ask if he has any cheap AK stocks available.

Than,
Check out "Global trades" and search......They have some stock sets that are a little banged up from prior use but with a little T.L.C, And some time with sand paper and stain they should turn out nicely (Or your choice of finish). It's all what you put in to it.
I think I've seen the complete set for around $18.00.
Later....Shadow

Thanks for the guidance guys. I see lots of stock sets, but no "cheap" rear trunions. I was kind of hoping that one of the members here might have an extra rear trunion that they would trade for my AMD-65 side folder. I guess I will have to save my pennies!

I was planning to pick up a rear trunion from interordnance. Got 2 underfolders and I think I will make one of them a fixed wood stock typer. You can also get a new US made stock set at Aim. They are walnut and unfinished. Pretty good deal for $50. If all you want is the rear stock I would buy the rest of the parts from you.
