I put a CZ-40P on layaway yesterday, and after deciding to starve for a week till payday I went to pick it up today, and the damned NICS check was down... Those Bastards..

I liked the looks and feel of the CZ guns for some time, but never really found one that I had to have.. Well this all ended yesterday with a stop at the funshop.. :headspin:

The 40P seems to be a limited run of only 300 guns,, It has the frame of the new P-01 from CZ, btu a compact .40cal slide.. Nice feeling little gun, not too heavy..

I never had a .40, or never really wanted one, but for $300 and the fact that I will be one of only 300 folks in the US to own one, I guess it's kinda cool..

Check out CZForum Mike. They have some good info on your 40P. And the first run was only 300, there will be a couple thousand only of these made. They were made from the frames of the P01, and the slides of the 40B, which was a Colt contract gun. Colt cancelled the order and CZ was stuck with the tooling and the parts. I had a 40P on order, but cancelled it because it was taking to long to get into the country. Enjoy yours. Others have been pleased.

Cephus, the background check is run through the NCIC computer database ( the same one that they run your drivers liscense info through when you get pulled over ) when the database is down there is no way to check the information.

Thankfully, for gunowners and LEO's NCIC is down infrequently,normally scheduled maintenance is done on Sundays, again this is an infrequent event.

Got it today...

I haven't had a chance to shot her yet. Luckilly my dealer threw in a box of ammo, cause I don't think I could afford to buy any..
