Florida: Trust fund raids, Right-to-Carry protected

Florida legislators have a long and shameful record of raiding state trust funds and dedicated funding sources taking whatever they deem necessary to balance the budget while avoiding the appearance of raising taxes. Potential consequences are pushed aside.Under a bill passed unanimously by the House on March 23, the Legislature will be barred from raiding the Concealed weapons Permit Trust Fund. The fund is derived from fees on licenses for concealed weapons, security officers and private investigators. It pays for firearm licenses for the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and for concealed weapon permit operations.
