I'm not a rich man and I cant buy guns just to sit around and just be pritty. So I buy a gun and most of the time they are nice ones. But after I have it for about five or six weeks I end up comming across some thing else that I like. So I end up selling one gun to buy the other one.
Then I end up with a new one but miss the old one.

??? Am I F'n NUTTS or does every one do stuff like this ???

??? What do you do ??

Gator.:thankyou:

I think at one time or another we all do that. However now I only get keepers and may have to wait longer than I like for my next one. With politics the way they are, I never know when I'll get cut off.

I'm that way with snakes, lol. I've felt the urge to do it with guns but resisted.

I have been buying guns since 1981, and I buy only the guns I really want, so I don't sell or trade them. This is because when I started I bought a beautiful H&K 91 with the polygonal barrel. I really loved that rifle but then the Galils came out and I just had to have one. I started saving, but they were like $1000., Anyway in around '87 the prices dropped and I figured I'd better get one then, so I sold my H&K to my brother in law for a real good "brother in law" price an bought my Galil. Of course, right after that the 1st President Bush banned further importation of "Assault Rifles" and the prices skyrocketed and I could no longer afford to replace my H&K as I had planned (especially one with the polygonal barrel). I decided then and there that I would rather skimp and save, maybe do with out in other parts of my life than with firearms. As Lupeloff says so well "I never know when I'll get cut off." That's just my opinion. The downside is I don't get to enjoy or experience as many guns as some of my friends that buy & sell all the time so who knows?

Yeah I sold a gun once, still regret it. Actually that just applies to handguns. I've culled out pieces from my C&R's when a better specimen came along. GG

I've done that same thing a couple times. Just more recently sold my BWK-92 (that I was displeased with) in order to fund my purcahse of a FAL (that I am very pleased with).

In the past I have only sold a few guns from my collection

Inland M1 Carbine- needed cash was young and dumb, sold it to my dad. I bought it back last year.
S&W mdl 28 357 mag = sold it to my brother with buy back option, he sold it without telling me
Bulg Mak - sold to my boss, I bought a EG Mak to replace

Varous AK's- sold for profit IE bought cheap to sell.

Basically my collection is pretty refined now. I don't plan to sell anything with the exception of some AK's that I picked up cheap.
