I split my east german gas tube after shortening it and trying to bend it out for a AMD-65, I even heated it up some. WHere can I get a cheep one. K-var is $16+Shipping, Global has no non-vented. FAC doesn't seem to have them, tapco neither, not interordnance and I'd just get another east german from Northridge but I want it before xmas. Where should I go?

I saw those too. I'll wait a bit to see if somebody has some they want to get rid of, otherwise I might go with K-var as I'm hesitant to get another E German one to try it on, I'm no the only one who has split one of these.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm looking for a regular AKM gastube with the flanges on it, so I can mount regular upper and lower handguards on an AMD-65. So I'm trying to replace the gas tube that came with the 65 with one with flanges. This seems easier than adding flanges to the current tube, but I have heard other stories about people splitting the east german ones when trying to round them after cutting them short. I heated it some, but probably not enough when I did it, so now I need another non-vented gas tube. I think I'll be forced to go to K-var unless somebody wants to sell me one?

meyerse, dpharms is a member here...he sells a ton of ak stuff as a side hobby.
i always try him first before going elsewhere. his shipments get to you really fast, and are alot more reasonable than your common retailer shipping

and chuck the gas bleed holes are located on the barrel gas port.
you can get the tubes with the vent holes i know, but mine was just a plain jane romy tube with no vent holes
