Georgia: Gun rights bill moves forward

Legislation meant to expand gun carrying rights in unsecured areas of Georgia airports moved forward Tuesday at the state Capitol, but it's unclear what any final gun legislation would look like this year. Senate Bill 291 makes several changes to state law, including allowing licensed carriers to bring their guns into the airport, provided that they stop at security checkpoints operated by the federal government. Currently, people can't have a gun in their car as they drop someone off at the airport, the bill's sponsor, state Sen. David Shafer, said.
