Damn, nice fee - NOT! The dealer here in AL that I deal with charges me $35 for a transfer and though I could save $15 by driving a half hour one way, I would have cost of gas, my time, and needing to know and trust someone new. The dealer I deal with told me that sales tax isn't charged on a firearm unless the gun was bought through the business (i.e. if they used their money to buy say a receiver from FAC and then I paid them I would have to pay sales tax). To further my example - If I pay FAC with my CC and it is shipped to the ffl - no sales tax. I find it hard to believe that PA law would be that different on the tax - although nothing seems to surprise me anymore with how some state laws are. As for a use tax or whatever your state calls it, that is something that you voluntarily pay when filling out the state income tax forms at the end of the year (at least here in AL).

hey i belong to bullseye also! I work there on Saturdays as well (the guy with all the tattoos)
I am the crazy guy that builds aks and fals. Tracy and Bill are two of my favorite people, along with Adam and John. The customer service and courtesy at Bullseye Ranges is the BEST.

I read all the posts on the other site and it pisses me off that this happens to fellow gun owners. You?ve got to file a complaint with the BBB and any other business groups in his local area, because a lot of bartering goes on between small businesses and others may want to know of his dishonesties in his dealings with you.
Three years ago I was looking for an FFL dealer to have an M-48 Yugo Mauser shipped to. One dealer wanted $35, another $45, but the one that shocked me was the man that wanted to charge the difference between what I paid and what he would charge for the same gun and tax on top of that. I told him to shove it and kept looking. I found a man that charges $15 and if I have more than one at the same time it?s only $12 each. He?s a great guy but I?m sorry to say that he may retire at the end of this year. I?ll miss the talks more than anything. I like to just sit around and talk with the people that show up, good people and good conversation. Looks like I?ll have to get a C&R FFL for the old guns I buy.
