I haven't seen them, but Interordinance had them in their last flier for $198. These were German made in excellent to like new condition. That is probably the best bet in a long time for H&Ks

I bought one of I/O G3 kits late last year. BS if the rifling was excellent to as new. Took me 6 months and 20% restocking fee to get back the money I could for their not as advertised G3 parts kit. Good Luck.

Go with Todd's FMP kit. BTW they are the older style w/o free floating handguard but are in truly excellent condition.

Jack -- I got one of I/O's. Paid extra for hand pick. Not marked HK but great shape. Haven't done anything with it.

Don't know what receiver to get.

How bout a link or a site !!!!!
Thanks
For Todd Grove FMP kits ( as I remember there is a sprinkling of HK parts in the set (e.g. bolt head, hammer, etc));

I've also heard the same about JLD recievers as being the best. Supposed to have been manufactured on original FMP tooling. Todd Grove also offers these receivers (look to be a few bucks higher than what I've seen on JLP website), but he sez they are in stock - a definite plus these days;

BTW - A few months back I also was able to buy one on Sarco's new ($249 I think), never assembled Indep (former FMP) G3 parts kits. Brand spanking new (barrel in the white) never assembled parts kits. This parts kit has the newer type triple tree for free floating handguard.

BTW 2 - Everything I read on boards and hear, FMP is just as good quality as HK

BTW 3 - I've had some very good dealings with I/O. They have some great products, and are very willing to work with you on exchanging parts you're not happy with. But asking for a refund is a different story - they really hate to give your money back for any reason.

I gambled and got an almost brand new German made kit from IO when they ist got the last batch in. It had a beautiful bore and 95% finish. I didn't want an early version since I had a brand new/excellent CETME kit. I agree the Portugese kits I've seen form FMP are just as nice as the German made kits.

Most excellent!!!

BTW - a couple of questions out of curosity on the I/O German G3 kits if you don't mind;
1) All part numbers match? (I know HK parts are date coded, maybe I'm thinking about serial numbers - on FMP they number the bolt head, bolt carrier, and a couple of other parts)
2) Have you measured the bolt gap ? If so, what was the measurement?
