After I press out the barrel pin and press out the barrel, when I reasemble the rifle will the headspace be correct when the barrel is pressed in until the barrel pin can be tapped back in place?

It is the barrel pin that brings the barrel into correct headspace for a weapon that has been dismantled. It is my understanding when the weapon is made, the barrel is pressed into the trunion, set for proper head space, then the pin is drilled and set. If you have one of these that the head space is off you at one time could get an oversized barrel pin to attempt to bring the barrel back into spec. Unfortunately Global Trades is out of oversized pins (of course I need one). Hope this helps. Jack

Generally? Yes. Having said that? Invest the money in a set of HS gauges, and check headspace on EVERYTHING - even new rifles from trusted dealers.

Try Clymer, I spoke with a really helpful guy there named Ken http://www.clymertool.com/ He is making me a Field gauge as well. Hope this helps, Jack
