Does anyone have a pic on then newer style "sheppards crook" install? This thing's driven me up the wall.

forget the wire, go with e-clips, they are too easy and very cheap. Someone suggested bending them slightly for more pressure,(they are kinda thin and allow the pin to move out ever so slightly) I forgot the actual size, either 7/32 or 5/32, I usually buy several differnt sizes, sometimes you can get two in there for a really snug fit.(different sizes) All my AK's are using e-clips

Check this out, it may be of some help. Rominian AK site I recall he had some discussion on it. You could also go here and get a replacement. Red Star Arms do a search for the "retainer plate". Hope it helps, Jack

Thats just for the 7.62 OOW receiver right? Not the 5.45? I seem to recall that on the 5.45 receiver the selector hole is "correctly" placed.

I use E-clips on all my builds......they work very well.

My experience is only with the 7.62x39, however after building a 5.45x39 it never occured to me to check. Hmmmm. Thanks, Jack
