From the front page of the Drudge report today.

The Kerry campaign calls on a publisher to 'withdraw book' written by group of veterans, claiming veterans are lying about Kerry's service in Vietnam and operating as a front organization for Bush. Kerry campaign has told Salon.com that the publisher of UNFIT FOR COMMAND is 'retailing a hoax'... 'No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them,' Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton tells the online mag... Developing...

KERRY CAMPAIGN CALLS FOR BOOK BAN

I went to Amazon and bought "Unfit for command" today!

BTW: The author of this book is sending all profits to the fund for Navy families in case anyone thinks they are profiting on it.

THANKS Evil_WalksII I'll dance at your wedding . If I can't make it bigger I'l set it out at 50 or 75 yds. and use a .22 on this size but it sure will make me feel better.
Fellas, I'd be proud to have any of ya dance at my wedding. If I ever do get married there will be an open invitation for internet based friends! Wish I could have worked that particular file into an avatar, not only for what she is but what her husband has done to valuable historic cartoons he felt to be "inappropriate". True scum, bad to the bone scum. I believe in freedom of speech, freedom of all sorts for that matter, but when people decide they can buy some freedom they don't subscribe to and hide it from the general population...Screw 'em. I've been scoring some great 40's Disney and Warner Brother's 'toons from some newsgroups. Material that shouldn't be hidden from our current and future generations. We all (well most of us...) saw Fess Parker as "Davie Crockett"...and I quote "Borned on a mountaintop in Tennessee, greatest state in the land of the free. Raised in the woods so's he knew every tree, killed him a 'bar when he was only three, Davey, Davey Crockett, king of the wild frontier..." :) (Y'all know the rest...) In 1813 the creeks uprose, addin' ******* arrows to the county's woes...now ***** fightin' is somethin' he knows, so he shoulders his rifles and off he goes...

O.K., I gotta admit the slaughter of the true Amerinds pisses me off. But the message Disney was trying to convey comes through loud and clear. It was all about a proud heritage. Try to find that anywhere today! It's the "Hanoi Jane's" who get the press towards the most impressionable of our society. Andy Griffith and Barney Fife would both say "For shame, For shame."

For a life in "Mayberry" I would trade all of my worldly goods. Every last one. (Well I'd have to keep an AK..., Mayberry can't be all it was cracked up to be...)

Edit: Didn't mean to side-track Sang Run Hunter's post. The swift boat/ brown water navy's place in our history is as proud as any folklore, possibly more-so. Real men. True heros. If any are reading, thank you! If not, thanks just the same. There are still Americans true to their beliefs who are proud of everyone who ever stood up for them and their rights. A sincere thank you from me and mine!

What about Kerry's book "The New Soldier" that he wrote in the 70's that he's trying to keep from coming up in the campaign? If you want to get the truth of what he believes right from the horse's @ss you can read it here. http://johnkerrythenewsoldier.blogspot.com/ He has tried very hard to keep it supressed and a hard copy brings upwards of $500 on Ebay.
The SwiftVet's book on the other hand is breaking all kind of records and thank goodness no publisher would walk away from that right now.
I sure wish you guys lived closer, as sometimes here in Co.(right outside the People's Republic of Boulder) I feel like one of the few sane people around.

I've now read the first 3 chapters or so of Unfit for command since last night. I've sen 5 or so interviews with John O'Neil too. If half of this stuff is true then Kerry should be brought up on charges.

BTW: My Dad got Tommy Franks book "American Solider" recently and I read about 50 pages in different parst of the book. It rocks and is very interesting to read, it will be the next on my list.
