All the special tools I have are a HF spot welder, Machmans dimple jig and a drill press with drills. If you divide that ($) by a few builds ,they come pretty cheap. As for time your 1st build will take the longest and after that an hour or so here and an hour or so there and its finished. Best of all you BIY!

Duplicolor 500 degree . Yes, I did the whole rifle. I do the small parts in a toaster oven and the large one in a big gas BBQ grill. I bake for 1 hour at 375-400 and then shut down and let cool to room temp in place. The pistol grip is now replaced with a laminate one I made so as to get an extra compliant part.Had to wait for the many coats of tung oil to dry.

Woo ? hoo.

I love the whole build. You have a great idea in the compliant pistol grip. Where did you get the basic material and does it have a particular name?

It is called special grade plywood-Home Depot sells it in 2x4 sheets. It has about 8 plys to 1/2 inch I glue 2 pieces of 1/2 " together with elmers. Trace a regular grip, rough cut with a band saw and have at it with a sanding drum on the dremmel. Hog out the top with a 1/2 " forsner bit. 5/8 spade bit for the bottom and I install a metal screw stop Takes about 1/2 hr to form, sand & stain. Then about 10 coats of tung oil and there you have it
