I've checked that one out, along with a couple of others. They all seem to be a good place to get get information on cowboy shooting and to swap stories. I like the relaxed and helpful atmosphere in those forums. The cowboy forum I mostly visit is the SASS forum, http://www.sassnet.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=2
I'm a getting all geared up for the first big shoot in March.
Cool. I like the new model army Remington cap n ball revolvers, I'm going to be doing some mods to and finishing out one of the 'kit' revolvers that Navy Arms used to sell. I'm going to post some of the things I do here.
Hey, check this out too, this guy is a CAS fellow who has lots of tips on his website. Be sure to hit the archive, there is some good stuff in there. I'm going to try the rust bluing when I'm done polishing it.
EDIT: Duh. The URL would be nice. http://www.hobbygunsmith.com/
I've got a 1858 New Model Remington Revolvers, mine is made by Pietta. Most all of the better ones are made by either Pietta or Uberti. I'm not sure which company makes them for Navy Arms. But, Navy Arms usually sells good stuff.
Here's a picture of mine.
They are a lot of fun to shoot, but ya have to really clean them good before putting them away. That black powder is quite corrosive and can do some nasty things to yer toys.
