I need to press off my romy front sight base with the threaded brake, trouble is it was welded at the 22 mm thread area.

I have had 2 suggestions on removing it
1. cut out the weld with dremel and unscrew it then press.

2. drill the bullet holes open just enough to slide a copper rod down in to meet the end of barrel, then press.

Which would you do and is this brake and base worth anything afterwards, or should I just toss it.

I am doing a bullpup project and dont need it anymore. I am doing something else.

#3 Remove the PINS in the FSB. Take a hammer and tap the FSB side to side.
It will slide off after a few hits. The Gas Block is the pain in the ass.

I think I am missing something here , is your brake welded on and you need it off the get the sight base off?? if you it sounds like yes carefully grind the weld and unscrew the brake. I could be way off here because I am not exactly shure what you are describing. I am not shure what you mean by drill the bullet holes?? if you can A pic is worth a thousand words.

Your idea worked exactly like you said. I did not think it would come off so easy. I was dreading the thought of the press.
P.S. how is the krink coming along ?

Thanks hotbarrel, sorry I did not explain it in the best manner, my allergy pills can make me dumbererer :D.
