I can hold my silence no longer.

I am tired of everyone from Muslim extremists to American TV evangelists dragging America through the mud.

So I will address each of you in turn:

MUSLIM EXTREMISTS

Without America, the Soviet Union would have conquered your twelfth-century "countries" a long time ago. You would be speaking Russian, and your "religion" would be officially thought of as a mental illness by the State. Remember all those "Made in the USA" markings on those SAM missiles we gave your Mujihadeen in Afghanistan? You're Welcome...or...you WERE.

Do you think that if we were to leave Iraq to Al Qaeda and Osama Yo Mama that they would feed, clothe, educate, treat the sick, etc., like Americans?
Al Qaeda and all the other unpronouncable Muslim extremist groups would do nothing but enslave the people they claim to want to save from "the Great Satan" on behalf of Allah.

AMERICA IS THE GREATEST EMPIRE IN HISTORY, BECAUSE IT CONQUERS PEOPLE IN ORDER TO FREE THEM, NOT ENSLAVE THEM.

THE FRENCH

Perhaps the next time the French turn their noses up at us and criticize our ways, they would be wise to remember the above phrase. For were it not for America, the Benevolent Empire, you French would be speaking German. Perhaps it doesn't matter, France, you have already become a colony of the Muslim world. Several sources have said that your Muslim population is so high that you literally fear the Muslims more than America. America might do some things you don't like, but it would have allowed you to keep your own customs, religions, etc. Do you really think that the ultimate goal of the extremist Muslims is to do anything other than turn France into an Islamic country?

Our supposed historical ally, France, who opportunistically stood with us during our American Revolution, has steadily proven itself to be our de facto enemy. In the immortal words of Arsenio Hall, "Come Get your F**king Statue!"

CANADA AND THE REST OF OUR "CRITICS"

I have one question for Canada, Germany, Russia, the UN, Kofi Anan, and anyone else "smart" enough to sit in judgment of us.

My question is, "What have you done for us ever? "

Why should we listen to your criticisms? You do not share our goals; you are not our friends.

TV EVANGELISTS

When Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell suggested that somehow the September 11 attacks were "God's Judgment" against America for our "wicked" country, my jaw about hit the floor.

I have a couple of questions for you "gentlemen."

First of all, which of the victims of 9/11 sinned so grievously that God had to kill 3,000 people to get to them?

Americans contribute more money to furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ than any other nation on Earth. I believe that a friend of mine is correct when he says that God will not destroy America as long as Americans are furthering His cause.

To those of you who say that this is a wicked nation, I say, America is not perfect. Perhaps you have never read of Old West frontier towns being little more than large, drunken brothels and gambling casinos?

Perhaps you have not read of the extramarital affairs and other dalliances of our founding fathers?

No, Americans have never been perfect, and we are no more wicked now than we have been at any other time in history. There are just more of us to be wicked.

What about abortion, you say? I'll grant you that one. But there are enough people in this country who are against abortion that it is not as if every American is a participant in this "sin". Indeed, I remember reading an article several months ago which stated that the number of abortions in this country has been in steady decline since Roe v. Wade . Good is winning over evil.

TO OUR ALLIES

ENGLAND, AUSTRALIA, POLAND, BULGARIA, and many others have become better allies than some of our so-called "traditional" allies in Western Europe.

With the possible exception of England, Australia has stood with us historically in just about every modern conflict. GoodDay, Mate!

TO THE REST OF YOU WHO STAND IN THE BREECH

Don't give up. We are winning. Evil shrinks from our might everywhere we go. The true godly people of this country and this world have stood up to the evil of the extremist Muslim world, and we have said, "That's Far Enough."

George Bush, in contrast to Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell, has seen the true nature of the attack by Al Qaeda on 9/11:

IT WAS AN ATTACK BY EVIL.

It was not God's judgment against us, although that could come later if we truly become a completely wicked nation.

Why didn't God stop it?

In order for God to have stopped the attacks on 9/11, He would have had to remove the free will of the people who launched the attacks. Although God is Sovereign, He will not remove people's free will.

Why didn't God warn us?

According to the 9/11 Commission, perhaps He DID, and imperfect, mortal humans didn't put the pieces together.

A joke once went:

A man is standing on his roof after a flood. He prays to God to save him.
A man comes by in a rowboat and the boat occupant offers to give the man a lift. The man refuses, saying, "I'm waiting for God to save me."

Soon, a helicopter flies overhead. The pilot yells down at the man that he will give him a ride. The man refuses, saying, "I'm waiting for God to save me."

Finally, as the water rises to cover the man, a passing ship lowers a rope to the man. The person holding the rope yells down at the man to grab the rope.

The man refuses, saying, "I'm waiting for God to save me."

Finally, the man drowns and goes to Heaven. He confronts God angrily saying, "I put my faith in you to save me and you let me drown."

God answers the man, "What do you want from Me? I sent you a rowboat, a helicopter, and a ship!"

Good statement Zoid. I was a little curious about your view on TV Evangelist, but you said it well. A lot of thought went into what you said without direct verbal attacks. Free will is the greatest gift God ever gave us. You hit the nail right on the head on all accounts.

I actually agree with much of it. And Russian colonialism into the the middle east and Asia is a very old story with their Afghan adventure only one of the more recent episodes.

I don't quite get the deal with slamming the French and others who wouldn't back us up in invading Iraq, though. They said that the invasion was unwarranted.

Say, just where are those weapons of mass destruction that you said were the primary reason for our invading, George? You haven't said much about them. Why don't you show France and Canada all those weapons of mass destruction we had to destroy?

So we're supposed to be in a snit with France and Canada because it turned out they were right? What's that about?

Post election blues, Dizzy?

You seem more strident lately than you did when you were debating if you should hold your nose and vote for Kerry.

Let's get our facts straight

So, now we must accept revisionist history? France and Canada were right about weapons of mass destruction? Let's have a reality check. Both French and Canadian intelligence believed Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. British reports of Iraq attempting to buy yellow cake uranium originated with French intelligence.

Now, here is a question which I think is fair. Where are the WMDs, Dzerzhinsky? UN inspectors listed stockpiles of WMDs before the invasion. What happened to them? Did they simply disappear, or was the UN misleading us?

I watched the French Parliament prior to and after the invasion of Iraq. They advocated a new Cold War, in which France would lead an alliance of nations against the US. The bottom line is France is a little country with delusions of grandeur. Giving them a seat on the UN Security Council is a joke, as well as a slap in the face of countries such as India, the most populous country on the planet... and a nuclear power. France was one of the leading thieves in the UN's "Oil for us program," which ripped off suffering Iraqis who were the legitimate beneficiaries. How anyone can excuse France I cannot understand,. Their motives in undermining American efforts to get a final UN resolution were selfish and dishonest... then again, they are French!

Canada is a mess. It is a country with multiple personalities. For 200 years, the British poisoned Canada against the US, afraid of losing another colony. Even now, Canadians are subjects of the Queen. At the same time, Canada has French influence. So the country is divided between urban and rural areas, French At the same time, its resists and condemns its close ties with the US, fearing domination by its southern neighbor. During and after the invasion of Iraq, their Parliament had to debate a resolution of declaring the US a war criminal... probably as a diversion form real issues, suich as C-68, their notorious gun control law.

Let's get our facts straight, before bragging, "I told you so."

No, I'm serious, Custer. I really don't get it. Hardly anyone seriously contends that we found the weapons of mass destruction that we told France and Canada were the primary reason reason for them to join us in invading Iraq. Even our own president doesn't say we found them, doesn't say that the reasons we gave France and Canada turned out to be valid. So what's the grudge about?

[FYI, this is also why I thought Kerry was nuts when he yattered on about including more nations in sharing occupation duties with us. Yeah, sure. I betcha France and Canada are just yearning to pull our fat out of the fire now that we got ourselves stuck in the ******** by not listening to them. It's amazing they aren't saying "Toldya so! Toldya so! Neener neener!"]

The only reason I am concerned that we did not find them is that someone has them and can put them to use.

Other than that, the rest is meaningless.

Well, I don't worry about that and neither does most of the world.

When the world calls 911, guess who answers?

Can you refer me to those UN inventories you're speaking of? Only reference I've heard to them was the failure of US troops to safeguard WMD precursers that were under UN seal at the time of the invasion. And of the difficulties the UN was having conducting the inventory you speak of because Saddam Hussein gave the inspectors such a ration of nonsense. You perhaps have a good point. Can you substantiate it?

But my understanding is that the UN had not found any inventories of WMD's.

Its kinda funny how hindsight works.
We should have been helping the Soviets all along! :)
Let them get killed for that dirtbag nation called Afghanistan, and keep the Mujadeen/Taliban assholes busy elsewhere. It seems to me that after The Soviets pulled out, the Islamic Fundamentalists got bored and started to plot and plan.
It does seem that Fundamentalists of both sides seem to hate Americans and consider us The Great Satan even the ones who are American.

Well put. good rant!

DB, from what I've read, where we screwed up in Afghanistan is that as soon as the Afghans were no longer engaged in killing Russians we just left them to their own devices. The Taliban then filled the power vacuum, financed by money from Saudi oil princes funnelled through Pakistani intelligence. The Pakis liked the Taliban, and their buddies the al Qaeda, because they were raising hell with the Indians in the Kashmir and because they wanted a stable - no matter how repressive - regime in Afghanistan so they could establish a trade route to former Soviet republics.

The Saudis and the Pakistanis are our friends? With friends like that...

Would you consider fighter jets WMD? If they could hide a jet, I'm sure they've hid other things.

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2003/8/6/105528.shtml

Wednesday August 6, 2003

NewsMax.com has obtained exclusive photos of a buried Iraqi jet fighter being recovered by U.S. Air Force troops. The Iraqi jet, an advanced Russian MiG-25 Foxbat, was found buried in the sand after an informant tipped off U.S. troops.

The MiG was dug out of a massive sand dune near the Al Taqqadum airfield by U.S. Air Force recovery teams. The MiG was reportedly one of over two dozen Iraqi jets buried in the sand, like hidden treasure, waiting to be recovered at a later date.

The Russian-made MiG-25 Foxbat being recovered by U.S. Air Force troops in the photos is an advanced reconnaissance version never before seen in the West and is equipped with sophisticated electronic warfare devices.

U.S. Air Force recovery teams had to use large earth-moving equipment to uncover the MiG, which is over 70 feet long and weighs nearly 25 tons.

The Foxbat is known to be one of Iraq's top jet fighters. The advanced electronic reconnaissance version found by the U.S. Air Force is currently in service with the Russian air force. The MiG is capable of flying at speeds of over 2,000 miles an hour, or three times the speed of sound, and at altitudes of over 75,000 feet.

The recovery of the advanced MiG fighter is considered to be an intelligence coup by the U.S. Air Force. The Foxbat may also be equipped with advanced Russian- and French-made electronics that were sold to Iraq during the 1990s in violation of a U.N. ban on arms sales to Baghdad.

The buried aircraft at Al Taqqadum were covered in camouflage netting, sealed and, in many cases, had their wings removed before being buried more than 10 feet beneath the Iraqi desert.

X Marks the Spot

The discovery of the buried Iraqi jet fighters illustrates the problem faced by U.S. inspection teams searching Iraq for weapons of mass destruction. Iraq is larger in size than California, and the massive deserts south and west of Baghdad were used by Saddam Hussein to hide weapons during the first Gulf war.

U.S. intelligence sources have already uncovered several mass grave burial sites in the open deserts with an estimated 10,000 dead hidden there. In addition, Iraq previously hid SCUD missiles, chemical weapons and biological warheads by burying them under the desert sand.

U.N. inspection teams found the weapons in the early 1990s after detailed information of the exact locations was obtained.

Top U.S. weapons inspector Dr. David Kay is known to favor human intelligence as the primary means to find Iraq's hidden treasure trove of weapons and secrets.

While there are rumors of Iraqi chemical and biological weapons being shipped to nearby Syria, the weapons may very well still remain inside Iraq buried under the vast desert wastelands.

Some critics of the Bush administration have claimed that the inability of U.S. forces to uncover weapons of mass destruction is proof that the president misled the nation into the war with Iraq.

However, in recent days the critics have fallen silent as word quietly leaked from Iraq that major discoveries have already been made and are now being documented completely. Bush administration officials are keeping any such discoveries secret for the moment.

No, I wouldn't consider figher jets to be weapons of mass destruction. That you would even consider that they may be is part of the reason why I really don't like the WMD terminology and prefer the older and more precise CBR (Chemical, Biological, Radiological) terminology. There are people who even consider AK's to be WMD's!

And if they could hide a jet, yes, they probably did hide other things. And probably equally clumsily and with equal disregard for maintaining operational integrity. I rather suspect that all but Baathists consider the Hussein regime to have been corrupt, deceitful, and incompetent. But the question is whether those other things were prohibited chemical, biological, or radiological weapons - and there is no evidence to date that they were.

I will consider the possibility that we indeed did find the WMD's upon which the invasion of Iraq was largely predicated the day that I hear George Bush announce that we did so. Until then, there are only two possibilities:
a. We didn't; or
b. Bush is witholding the information from us.

Pick one.

I think it would have been a lot simpler if Bush had simply said Saddam failed to live up to the agreement made at the end of Desert Storm. And we are going go cause him to either comply or remove him - and screw France, Germany, and the UN!
