Well I've been shooting guns since I was a kid and I own a dozen hand guns and 3 ar rifles and many other hunting guns.....But I've never had the oppertunity to shoot an ak47 untill last weekend.....I was just never that interested in them......but a good friend of mine came to visit and brought his 2 girls with....a wasr 10-63 and a yugo m70ab2......and wow were they fun to shoot.....I even went and bought a second tin of ammo cause I couldn't get my fill.....so now I'm looking for an yugo m70ab2.......
The one i was shooting was a century build and it was preaty nice ,alot better than the wasr.....so living in bfe its hard to find thoes rifles.....internet will be the way I'll have to go unless i get lucky at a gun show but from what i have gatherd their preaty rare around here.....so other than century what other yugos are there? and what are the best sites to buy from?...I don't mind spending more than the average for an above average gun so what are you're oppinions.....thanx

If I was going to buy a store boughtended AK it would be one of the converted Saigas from K-Var.
well then whats a good yugo kit? and what a decent price for one? and where's a good place to find a good one?
Your looking about $100 for a receiver or more if your dealer likes to charge a lot for transfers. Then $200 or so in a base kit and another $100-$150 for a good/new barrel, New wood if you want it pretty etc. I'm not sure you could build a pretty gun under $500-$600 these days especially if your just doing one by the time you factor in tooling refinishing supplies, rivets and the like. Thats why I mentioned the Saiga conversions at $700 ish . Even cheaper if you convert one yourself .

Theres cheaper alternatives to be sure. If you libve in an NFA state I'd take one of the Romanian pistols at $370 and SBR it and add a stock. Still be cheaper than a new Saiga even with the $200 tax and way more coolishness factor. Chicks would dig you.
thanx for the reply but I think i want one assembled already....just clean and shoot...mabey a parts kit later down the road.....so as far as I've beenable to find just century and centrefire systems sells them...Am I missing any?....and I'm not willing to get anything other than a yugo m70ab2....I got my heart set on that one...
If you want a finished M70 then your pretty much stuck with the century/centerfire stuff. If you can find one of the century guns with the new barrels you should do alright as long as they installed the sights correctly. Some of the surplus barrels would make you cry. The wood stocked versions are getting scarce but they still have some folders for $500 ish...

aim surplus, and j&g sales has them, though aim is always running out. Both places are a little cheaper and I've had good experiences buying from both.
A+ on both Aim and J&G.Good experience with both.gunut
One of our members has a new Yugo M70 AB2 for sale. I beleve the price is $700.00
His name is jroberts1968. I also have a new one, but woulden't sell for that amount.
Good luck.
how much are u asking?
I have an excellent M70AB2 for sale in the classified section. It has pics and was professionally built by RedJacket. I'm asking 750.00 but we can deal. It's under "AK Collection for sale."

I am wondering, having just bought a Yugo M70AB2 if I have a new barrel? How can one tell if it is a new one?? Thanks
If the bore is shiny. Used Yugo bores tend to be.... dark.

Yes, that would be a kind way to say it, I bought about 1/2 dozen of the early Yugo kits from Century, they ranged from a good, to a little pitting to so bad that not only did it fail the bullet test, but I was just about able to ram the entire case down the muzzle. Still, they are a cool AK, one of my favorites.

After the "anointed one" was elected, I was able to sell all the bad kits on GB at a price so high, I actually felt a little guilty, fortunately the feeling did not last
