Iowa Governor to Host âRight-to-Carryâ Bill Signing Ceremony

On Thursday, April 29, Governor Chet Culver (D) will be hosting a bill signing ceremony for Senate File 2379. The signing will take place at 9:00 a.m. on the West Terrace State Capitol in Des Moines. This landmark legislation will make Iowa a âshall issueâ concealed carry state, requiring sheriffs to issue a permit to carry a concealed weapon to all applicants, unless they are subject to certain specific disqualifiers.
