im going with NO..... because i dont have one & would love to!

it still shoots & ammo is still avail= not obsolete.

It will only be obsolete when people that are younger stop purchasing and production ceases. Otherwise they are Iconic, made like a tank, and a work of engineering art. Superbly accurate, historic and everyone should own one. Heavy or not....you'll make Golly Sarge forever. 😉

It's my favorite as well Tommo. I hunt with mine when I can, otherwise mostly target shooting at the range as I haven't done a DCM type shoot in years. They are extremely easy to hit with. The local rifle range we usually visit is only 150yards and has steel plates. First time I took my M1A shooting with my son he was surprised how easy it was to hit a 4" plate at that distance using the issue sights.

Good to know I am not alone in my liking the M1A Moleman. I can shoot an M1A more easily than any other rifle I have tried. It just feels very comfortable, has mild recoil and is very accurate. I also like M1 Garands too, especially in .308.
