I did one with hot rivets were I bucked them off the barrel before ( a long time ago) I cut shallow slots in the end of the rivets so they would spread around the barrel better heatted the ends red hot and hammerd them in untill they were flush. I dont know what they look like on the barrel side but the never came out or got loose. the old AGI video showed doing it that way but cold.
no reall need to do it hot with proper tools today. the rivet gets cold pretty fast so ya got to work really quick.
