Hey Sang, did you get your K-31?
Yes I did. The action and barreal are nice, but missing some blueing. The stock is dinged and missing some finish. For $79 it was a good deal though and I'm not complaining. Had the tag under the butt plate with the former soldiers name.

Sounds like you got a good one.

What year is it?

Are you going to try to contact the soldier?

I couldn't figure out the year on it, but then again I put it away and haven't gotten it out since last week.

How do you identify the year? It didn't seem obvious to me like a Mauser or Nagant.

I might write the soldier too and send him a pic of the rifle to let him know it's in good hands. Hopefully he's still living or his family is around.

Do a white pages search on your soldier and see if you get lucky and he still lives there.

Mine did and I sent him a letter last week.

My rifle is a 1945 and the soldier was born in 1929 so I guess he got the thing in 1949 and kept it until 1958 when I think they were issued new rifles.
