Here's the newest addition to the stable. This is the one I was trying to decide whether to park-n-paint, or blue. I think that I'm going to blue, if I can find someone here in the Carolinas that can blue a Yugo to look factory. New ORF receiver, new Green Mountain barrel, Tapco FCG, and some nice trench art on the fore grips. I still need to test it, then get her blued.

Just remembered from looking at the lower pic, that my front flip-up night sight spring is broken, and needs replaced. Thought I had an extra one, but I used it on another build, apparently. Anybody have a spare??? TIA,

Bigun
Good looking AK Yugo. Will miss ORF's fine receivers and such.
I've been able to collect every AK type Yugo rifle that's came in this country,
or should I say builted them.
Keep building, and have fun.
Nice build 2ndAmendican. Glad to see someone else in upstate SC building.
Nice build
You just reminded me I need one of those springs too, if I find any I'll let you know.
Very nice build. The Yugo is my favorite AK. You did an excellent job on that.
Go too your local gun shops. Ask if anyone in your A.O. does blueing if you dont want too do it yourself.
Most FFLs are busy and dont have time too blue weapons. They usually have a connect who blues their weapons. They can most likely hook you up.
I am building four of those right now. All that is left is to finish blasting, park and paint with Gun Kote. One is for a customer, one will be listed on Gun Broker. Two have sold to repeat customers. I have one more, milled, M70 UF receiver left and am toying with the idea of an M92 Krink, SBR build.

Those are broken on alot of kits. You can replace them with an AR 15 flat spring. I can't remember who told me that. I used an A2 rear sight spring. You have to grind it down to fit.

Olympic Rear Sight Base Leaf Spring AR-15 A2 - MidwayUSA
someone here told me about that spring too, but when I did mine it holds it closed fine but open its down a little not fully open but I wanted it closed anyways

That's odd is it not resting on the front sight hood? It could be the angle it's being held at because there is movement up and down. I replaced one on my M72 and it works great.

Nice looking Yugo there. Enjoy it.
You'll be really happy with the accuracy out of the Green mountain barrel.
You have to play with the spring, grinding a little here and there, but the AR spring works quite well.
You're welcome I owe you a couple.

2nd nice build I'd like to see the trench art in the next picture.
Thanks, will do Dark Knight.

Thanks Nico. I can't wait to go test it. I have a PSL, AMD-65, Maadi, the M70, and a Saiga 12 to go test out!!! Haven't had time to punch any paper in a while dangit!!!

Updated pics

Dark Knight, here are a couple of pics of the trench art on the hand guards. It's a little grainy, but should be clear enough.

That's nice trench art. I'm going to have to get some handguards or buttstock with some trench art. It's cool to see all the different things they carved.
yea cool!
i like when they have the coat of arms carved in them
id love to find a set myself for my other ft end i have
but there pricy-somtimes more than just a plain beater set
i might have to do one myself-but my crylic sucks!!!
Thanks Dark Knight and Zteknik. I really like the thought of who held this at one point. Was it actually used in combat? Did it actually kill a combatant? If only the wood could talk!
I actually got these handguards from APEX for $15.00!!!! Just got lucky with the trench art. I was tickled when I opened the box.
I too got a set from Apex with some trench art on it.
Currently set aside awaiting a build for them.
