I have seen a number of post on lower rails and I think it would be a good consolidated subject to put in the Library. Would any of the Gurus like to take it on? Before we begin we should outline all of the questions that come up then answer them. I will give a few of the top of my head.
Q. Are all trunnions the same when installing the rails?
Q. If I am putting the rails in my bent receiver how do I measure where to put them?
Q. Can I put the rails on before I have a trunnion to measure with?
Q. How do you heat treat rails. (already answered on this site but should be included.)
Q. Problems ejecting - Rail/ejector adjustment how to.
Q. What about the different rail styles.
Q. AK-47 vs AK-74 rail differences. (differences should probably be included in every question).
Q. Adjusting/modifying rails to solve problems.
Well, you get the idea. We could have a section of the library for each component of the AK. ie FCG, bent blanks, rivets, headspacing etc. Does anyone else like this idea?
