Visit Canada, they import the Chinese M14 in X39. What you do when you come back is your business...

I have converted M1's in 30.06 to .308 with chamber plugs and they work fine with milsurp after finish reaming the chamber to .308. I wonder where if anyone makes a chamber plug for 7.62x39?

Intersting thread about twist rate, bullet mass, size, etc. But what would be the point to the exercise and expense of building or converting an M1A? Okay, they're 400-500 bucks in Canada but here? Certainly not just to save on ammo cost.
I know CZ does or used to make a x39 bolt gun available in the US.. Toyed with the idea of getting one but how accurate, I wonder, can x39 be w/o spending $1.50/rd.

take advantage of inexpensive ammo!
"Simply coat the the outside of the adapter with non permanent Locktite™, place a fired 7.62x39 case inside the chamber and close the bolt. After 10-12 hours, eject the 7.62x39 case and you are ready to start shooting. Inexpensive Russian ammo costs 25-50% less than any regular 308 or 30-06. A broken shell extractor will remove the adapter and return the gun to it's original caliber. If you are careful, the adapter is reusable!"
