Do you have to fit that part or is it just a drop in part. I bought a new one with the sping and plunger and was wanting to know if it is fitted or not?

I have a loaded package M1A that was built in 2000 and I bought it new. I have only put about 300 rounds down range with it and was told that it has a cast extractor in it and was told to replace it before it can flying out of the rifle when shooting.

I put a new extractor in my M1A tonight. The one that I took out looked low grade campaired to the one I replaced it with from Fulton Armory.

I put a flash suppressor with a bayonet lug on my gun also. You need the special plies to get this done. The nut that holds the flash suppressor on is a special one and you can take the nut off without the pliers but you will mess the nut up. If you want to do a nice job and not look like you did a hack job you need the pliers to tighten the nut.
