Out of curiosity do any of you fellow folders known what you are getting for a distance at the narrow point directly above the center support with it installed(and perhaps both trunnions for true dim.) between the top rails before carrier fitting?Or perhaps while still in the jig?Tapco flat btw.Or inversely how much do you have to remove to fit carrier?

I measure the slots on the sides of the bolt and cut accordingly.

I think Thanatos means the bolt carrier slots (please correct me if I'm wrong). As I do the same thing.

Actually I am curious about the wide and very narrow little tabs on the outside edges ot the Tapco flat as a reference for checking my math on final dimensions in the bending process. That outer edge is the only real variable given the known internal width.Without knowing if the designer mean't to leave a hair to custom fit individual carriers (makes sense) just wanted to know how close to the average .970 ish other efforts are.I'm getting .930 ish and trimming about .020 a side.Probably to close to monkey with since everything is fitting fine. There is a bit of temptation to tweak it to achieve an Origami type folding that produces a perfect example.I probably should seek counseling.Or the fridge for a beer at least. Thanks.
