These heroes are dead. They died for liberty - they died for us. They are at rest. They sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, and the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or of storm, each in the windowless Place of Rest. Earth may run red with other wars - they are at peace. In the midst of battle, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. I have one sentiment for soldiers living and dead: cheers for the living; tears for the dead. ~Robert G. Ingersoll

God Bless Americas Veterans.
All gave some. Some gave all. :salute:
Picture of cross. SGT. Robert J. Niland. Names were changed in the making of the "true story" movie. "Saving Private Ryan."
Picture of WWII submariners. Not many of these guys are still with us.
They traveled a great distance too attend Charlie Ward's funeral.
Charlie was a great guy. A WWII submariner.
I was quite honored too meet these brave men.

A big THANKS to ALL who gave there lives so i can live mine
and for the ones willing to put theres on the line as i did
I've dove with reef sharks, skiied the Italian alps, I ride 100MPH on my motorcycle, I can hit a forehead sized object with my .45 at 25 feet, and I drink Captain Morgan straight. I once made my way out of the forest with only a wrist watch after my girlfriend got us lost, and I even took the pain quietly when the nurse shoved the anesthetic needle into the base of my foot after I broke it. I like to think of myself as a true man, but I will admit, when I went to the cemetary at Normandy a few years back, and saw the row upon row after row of all the good and honorable boys who died there, I broke down and cried like a little girl. I am not even a shadow of a man compared to those guys.
To all veterans who are reading this, for whatever it's worth, thank you.
I served in what was called peace time. The price I have paid so far is both knees both hips both both feed and severe depression. A few new things because of the places I was and the things I came in contact with.......... And I would not change a thing it is what one is to do for the US
