Had to take a break from the yardwork in this 90-degree heat...

Look down toward the bottom for the latest update - X and Y dimples, and some pics of my "jig" made from a 3/4" bolt. I'm very happy now!

Nice work Hcpookie! You never cease to amaze me! Looks like you really gave that blank a work out trying the different dimples. Very very nice work.

Thanks! Yeah, that blank got a few tries before the final go but honestly it looks well enough to be used on my plum kit.

I'm working on the mag well dimple die and have it nearly complete... just need to round off a few edges. I think the dimple die can also be used to put that oval shaped divot near the safety selector on the RH side. GOing to have to check that out.

Edited to include "test #2" where I successfully made the magazine well dimples! Did this over lunch break. Had to smooth the edges of the male side of the jig. Now it works A-OK. Next (and final) step for the mag well dimple jig, is to grind the female side to fit into the receiver WITH the rails installed.

The *only* dimple remaining is the right-side safety selector dimple, the oval one under the safety selector. Going to try to do that tonight, and then once completed will rivet my Plum kit! Then again, I can do that safety dimple later, so maybe I'll rivet tonight...
