Yep, I built that from a SAR-1 in about two hours.

Cut crowned and threaded the existing barrel. The only thing is I had to weld it to the barrel to be legal. Cut the front sight and tig welded it to the gas block.

what thread did you cut on the end of the barrel... 14x1,L ??
I tried to buy a 14x1,L TAP and they wanted $159 and a die was about the same. yikes way too much for me

Yep, 14x1mm lefthand.

Ya can borrow mine, but I don't have a guide ( which you have to have ) I borrow a 30 cal. spud from a friends bore sighter to use as a guide. You have to be careful as crooked threads ain't a good thing.

P.S. I only have a die, don't know what I would need with a tap??

That is nice!! I would like to do something similar but leave the barrel long and open up the muzzle brake so that it fits over the barrel. I'm not sure if the diameter of the muzzle brake would allow it though.
