This started life as a 74s.
The day I got it I removed the front site base and gas block. And I had to get them damn hot to get em off. I ordered a combo block/site from Kvar and took the barrel and site to Randy Kline at Sledgehammer Arms (only a few miles from me) he cut and crowned the barrel and attached the site for $37, and had it ready the next day! I have been cutting, chopping, and grinding away since last nite. Got it drilled/parked/riveted and pressed this afternoon, it was finished in that spray from Brownells (the one with teflon) That $28 can of six onces only did two guns. (gotta get an airbrush) any way I am waiting on my extended brake from Chris at AK-103, and the optics mount, the FCG, and the buttstock from the UK (I have one on my Saiga 12c that I am thinking of robbing until I get the one from the UK, but probably will wait) then it should be done.
I was just so excited about this one I had to share......Now I gotta be on the lookout for whats around the corner, maybe that Yugo stuff will show up soon........

Yes, the rear is a booger, the schematics that are out are for the 1mm receivers so a slight bit of "scratchin the head is in order". This is my second sider folder and I find the rear less "taxing" then that damn retangular hole in the front. Getting it rectangular without "going out of the lines" is tough. Not to mention the damn springs on either end, neither one of those are 'easy'.

thanks

Hey Kevin, since you already have the correct trunnion you should order the AK105 buttstock from GB. I heard its at a decent price but I dont have the link here with me at work right now.

Update:I got the correct extended brake for the build on yesterday. I am pleased with how it turned out, the brake came needing some work (the threads are a little funky and the opening was a little raw...but with some polishing out it works well. I "blind" pinned it on with my little mapp torch and it's perm attached now.

I am going to order the buttstock after Nov 5th, then the correct buttstock will be on it...the optics rail should be here today or tomorrow..damn I wish I had left out the other rivet, but I was just too determined...oh well

Today "she" gets to go ride around in the car with me, I am taking it to one of my few friends who "kinda" understands the obsession...yes loaded..I love Texas!

here's an updated pic
