Got mt 1st kit today, AMD-65. Everything looks to be in great shape. Tapco did a pretty good job. Got a question for yall though.
The bolt and the front trunion have differnet serial #'s. Is this going to be a problem with the headspacing?
Will post pics of the kit soon
Thanks in advance

I have bought 3 AMD kits from them and every part has had matching numbers. Might want to wait and get some feedback from others here at gunco before calling them and asking them why the different numbers.

you have a very good chance that everything will be just fine, odds are in your favor in this one. you can check it before you start to build if you want to,

Yes that can be a problem. It is possible that the bolt will headspace the trunnion correctly. But not likely. If your bolt will not headspace you can get yourself into some pretty technical buisness in order to get it right. If you had headspace guages you could check it now and know where you stand. If it were me, before you do anything Ide call Tapco and see if you can send it back and exchange it for a matching set. I bought three AMD kits from them and all of them were in unfired matching #s condition so I know they got em. Give em a shot and see what happens. Thats the easiest safest thing to do.

I would not fire any build without checking the headspace first.
I had a pretty nice PMKMS kit, (all matching #,one of Global's selects) that was way too loose.

It really surprised me since it was such a nice kit.
Since then, I take nothing for granted.

Go and No Go head space guages from Brownells! Get them! Check the head space before doing anything else! The stripped bolt (extractor removed) should not close on a clean chamber. If not, return the kit. Life is too short for a newby to head space AMD 65 when there are so many of them!

Just my two cents,
Yours,

Thanks for everybody's input. I have decided to return it to Tapco and ask for another kit and for them to make sure all S#'s match. Hope it go's well. I am sure I will have a few more questions after getting the new kit.

Well I contacted Tapco, They do not have any kits with matching serial#'s so don't order any more AMD65 kits from them for a while and also call to make sure before ordering from them. I will say that customer service was helpful. They agreed to refund my shipping costs.

Big brown truck showed up here too, Lois from Centerfire sent me 5 kits and all the numbers match in those kits ..... so it appears that they stil have some -- they're running out of the ones with the wood grips ( got mine with the plastic ones , personal preference) , and guys you were right , she is a real sweety ....
