I finaly brokje down and ordered a new TIG welder for home . their is a machine ware I work but the f--ing NAZIES are everyware just looking to see if you do any kind of home job. never mind an evil gun part!!! oh lord not that!! So buy the middel of next week I will have a nice Miller T.I.G. machine here to do my personal work with, and no hideing too.. I honestly feel T.I.G. is the best for most all work that is not extreamly heavy. and the cost was not much more than a mig... sorry guys I am not realy satisfied with the lac of control in a mig. I just love T.I.G. :thumbup1:

you guys that have had small projects for me in the past,, I will be able to get your parts back to you faster now that I do not have to look over my sholder for a spy at work.. bring on your holes, cracks, and oops I ground off too much, bring it on, I will get you fixed rite up.

yes it is an inverter, well lets just say it is not the most expensive one they had. I know a few contractors sware buy them, and use them every day. for this reason I think it will last a lifetime. ALso it will do stick but I will not use this machine for that. It will go up to 150 amps, that is enough for tig , if I need welding ware 150 is not enough I will use my lincoln stick machine. it puts out a bout load of amps, easy cut 5/8 plate.

I got the welder the other day!!!! I hooked it up and did my first work with it today!!!
It works great, I am very happy witrh it!!! I welded up some holes in a reciever and they welded smooth, without any undercut. or burning. it took about 10 min. to get used to it just because it is a new machine to me but once I got the feel of it it felt great!!! I highly recomend T.I.G. for ALL your welding needs.
My machine is a Miller , no not a ten thousand dollar machine but certainly not the cheapest one I have seen either. It can also do stick welding , but I have no intention of useing it for stick because I have another very nice stick machine. It will do everything I need and honestly should last my lifetime. also it comes with the full Miller true bule warentee. parts and labor.

SKShunter...... I think I see some rails going in tomorrow. I am going to set the hight and put a few tacks on them. I will show out how they came out this weekend.
OH YES I see a small cheap tig welder for sale in harborfreight for $259.99 it is brand new to them. item number 91811-ouac. you will need an argon bottle and welding supply charged me 114 for the cylinder without a lease and it costs only $30 to exchange it witrh a full one. So for well under $400 you can be tigging and own your bottle. I can not see how you could loose.
the welder is made by Chicago Electric !! not bad, they mabe my generator and I have hade it for like 20 years. it ran 14 days strate during the ice storm!!!
ANYONE intrested I would suggest buying it!! and it you do not like it send it back all you could loose is a few bucks shipping. lets face it T.I.G. is the best way to go for detail work . ALL the controll in your hand. adjust rod feed rate as you weld, adjust part temp , alter penitration depth as you go too. or NO FEED AT ALL to fuse parts . try that with a stick or mig. it will do T.I.G. and stick, 130 amps on T.I.G. that is plenty! 90 amps on stick ,,, not too bad.
this is the first T.I.G. maching I have ever seen in the price range of a mig. for the price, I would have tried it before I forked over the pile of cash I did the other day. oh well too late now.

Hotbarrel, can you double check that sku # for the welder. It's not on the website and the local store doesn't know anything about this machine. I'm close to dropping the coin for a Miller, but I want to take a look at this one first.

Campbell Hausfeld makes an inversion machine that will do both DC stick welding and TIG. It is priced at about $300 and would probably be on par to slightly better than the Harbor Freight machine. Check link below

I have something similar to that now. I can't get the amps low enough. The lowest setting is 20 amps and it burns through the thin stuff pretty quick. BTW it was somthing like $129 at HF. Cute little unit, about the size of a 3/4 loaf of bread. Arc is super stable, just a little too hot.

I checked the number ant it ic correct 91811-OUAC , it is inside the cover of the fall 2004 catalog number 569-D,
harbor freight told me they have a no questions asked return policey, we need someone to get one and try it then let us know how it works. maby someone close to a store so the buy and if needed return, will be fast and easy. let us know.
