Although, I gotta admit there's something about even less steel and even more plastic that just doesn't sit well with me.

Guess I'm just being old fashioned.

You get my vote there too. I like to see steel and wood. Plastic, I just don't think its the same. Call me a dinosaur but plastic had always reminded me of cheap.

I'm with Lynch& Diver , I'm an old timer I didn't like the m-16 way way back in 1967 (that's for you younger guys) I was trained with the M-14 and loved the weapon then we were send to this far away land and given this thing that we all thought was a toy and told go engage the enemy I didn't like it then and I don't like it now but just as then what we think makes no dif . The powers that be will have it thier way. but I still done like it I would rather still have my M-14.
Have you seen what the market is getting for an M14? I looked at a new one at the Harrisburg show this last weekend, $1300.00. Older ones are not much better and usually highter. M1s are price so high now. New one lowest I saw was $1000.00. Guess thats why the AK is so cool, and for that matter the FAL. Jack

did you watch any of those videos? That thing is really controllable in FA.
You have to right click and click play for it to work, or at least I did with netscape. (I hate IE because it leaves tracks(url's in the registry) in your machine)
heres the linkXM8 video

Plastic doesn't bother me too much, but I don't like the overall looks of the gun. It kinda reminds me of an oversized paintball gun...maybe it is the plastic.
