"The weapon that we recovered at that second scene I am describing as a magazine-fed semiautomatic assault pistol. Not an assault rifle, but an assault pistol that had an extended large capacity magazine attached to it."

I saw that and wondered if it was a regular pistol with something like a 33-round mag or snail mag, or if it was just an AR pistol. If they're going to make up scary names, they should be more specific.
I wonder if putting a strip of picatinny on a Ruger Blackhawk makes it an "assault revolver"...

Turned out to be a MAC-10 with a long mag but the manufacturer was not specified beyond "a company that went out of business in the 90s."
