I have 500 acres in north georgia to hunt. This past weekend was opening day of deer season for rifles. Thought I would try the Mak-90. 4 of us had a good time but no luck. I did see a monster 10-point buck, and my buddy saw a bear. Thought I would share a pick of my son and I on his first hunt.(sons 1st). Will go out again this weekend. Wish me luck.

The 30-rounder was for looks only! 5 round mag in georgia only!

I still have yet to get my first. Went with my Dad up in Western Maryland severla years in a row untill my kids started coming and just couldn't make it up at the right times. Maybe this year I can again or I might actually go here in Ohio, but that is shotgun.

I got a CVA black powder this year too that needs a deer. I'd love to get my first with the black powder. Too bad my Dad didn't hunt during my youth or I'd be ahead of the curve.

It is always good to see a father taking his son hunting. Just hope he doesn't get a bigger deer than you or you'll never hear the end of it, .

2nd weekend of gun season:

I thought I would take both of my sons with me this time.(give the wife a break) My oldest who is pictured above sat with my friend. My 10 year old sat with me. About 9:00am I thought about moving down the ridge another 50 yards but something told me not to. About 15 minutes later my son elbowed me in the side and told me to look to my right that he saw a deer. I turned and raised my Mak-90 and there she was. I waited to see if she would come a little closer, as she turned her head away to the left I had a clear shot above her shoulder. With the AK iron sights set on her, (40 yard shot) I pulled the trigger and tracked her blood about 30 yards and there she was lying on the ground dead! Gutted her right there and took her to the processer.
Next weekend I will be on the look-out for the 10 pointer I saw last weekend.

I told my boys one thing:

This is the only time we can get out and talk, and have fun together without mommy. So, lets enjoy our time together. Hunting season only lasts for a few months.
