I was just asking about the gap between the back of the front trunnion and bolt cover.

edit: Basically, I was asking if it needs to be there or not. I noticed on my sar-1 a small gap between the back of the front trunnion and the front of the bolt cover. I'm about to trim th OAL and didn't know if I should trim it so that the bolt cover rests fully on the rear of the front trunnion, or if I should cut the OAL a little longer so that the cover rests slightly behind the back of the front trunnion. It seems like on my sar-1 that the rear sight block extends just a tad past the back of the front trunnion, which would explain why the cover needs to be back a little. Anyone else ever notice this? Should I account for the gap, or make it so that the cover rests flush with the back of the front trunnion. Also, without the gap, my OAL length. is 10 & 1/8''. With the gap it is 10.25''.
