Heard on the BBC that Putin the Puke is saying that elections shouldn't be held in Iraq because it makes no sense to hold elections in an occupied country.

One observation, one question for history buffs:

1. Since Putin has done all he can to stymie elections in Russia and in the Ukraine, it'd make sense for him to be agin' them in Iraq. My only question is which Putin is going to settle on for himself after he's completely trashed those pesky elections: President for Life, Dictator of the Proletariat, or Czar.

2. Does anyone know whether elections were held in occupied Germany or Occupied Japan?

Putin does not believe in democracy anymore than did Adolph Hitler.

Saddam is still alive and could be restored to power. Members of the UN DSecurity Council would benefit from return to power of the Baathist Party. One thing can stop that - elections where the voice of the Iraqi people is finally heard. No longer can Saudi cklerics speak for the Shiia Iraqis, nor can international media call terrorists "resistance fighters," as does the CBC and others.

I don't know how democracy will fit Iraq, but it will free her from Baathist and Sunni Arab repression.
