Hello,

I am new here and also new to AK's. I just received my Polish kit from Global and I have a few questions.

I want to rivet the trunnion in and I have an air hammer. I want to know if it is possible to use the air hammer with a home made bucking bar?

Will the air hammer destroy the receiver? Does anyone have plans for such a bucking bar that would be used with an air hammer?

Hi Hcpookey,

Thanks for your links. Some of those tools are just too expensive and some of them look like their designed for aluminum rivets.
I like the Brake rivet tool from Cleveland tool. At $28 that is affordable. It's hard to tell from the photo if it would fit in the trunnion. If it doesn't fit I don't want to grind so much material away that it may be too weak to withstand the necessary pressures involved.

If I use my air tool I wanted to know if anyone else tried it successfully and what design was used for a bucking bar.

I saw your bolt cutter riveter and I am interested in that design as well. My concern was that it may not reach into the rear portion of the front trunnion.
Also, can the blade be ground flat enough to mushroom the rivet without damaging it?
