After successfully completing an operational AMD-63 build, I have been looking for another kit. I have settled on the ROMAK 3 Dragunov kit in 7.62x54 cal. This is because the receivers are now available for them. One source is CenterFire which has Romanian receviers. Because this cuts down on the US parts count, I have this question.

Which AK parts are switchable to the ROMAK 3 rifles? FCG, Gas Pistons, Furniture, etc. I don't want to spend the money on a kit that I cannot build because of a little thing like non-availability of US parts. What about sources for the parts? Anybody got any idea who sells the replacement parts?

Thanks

I am NOT an expert. However, do you need to worry about U.S. parts? I don't think the configuration of the PSL (Romak3) is banned from importation. The kits may have some bad features (bayonette lug?) but I don't think the completed guns that are sold have US parts.... anybody?

I believe all you need to do is remove the bayonet lug and weld the pin for the break. then you are all set. I got that from a reliable place at the time but I can not find the quote at this moment. the Romak is not "evil"
